Depends on your feeling about sex. I'm the kind of person who will only sleep with someone whom I feel I love. Many other people feel that sex is fun and it feels good, not attaching many emotions to it. Those people can have several sex buddies and be OK. Persons like myself can't do that because of a different set of standards. Make sure you know how the "friend" feels about sex and what kind of emotions they attach to it because if one of you falls in
love and the other one doesn't, it will ruin the relationship.

That's called Friends with Benefits. But not all people see it that way, so talk to them before you do something that will screw up your friendship. Be cautious, and make sure both people understand. Otherwise, you have 1 or both people crying in the end out of rejection.

depends on the friends. I have lots of friends that sleep with each other time to time and they don't have any commitments towards each other. But beware of pregnancy and if you know that either you or your friend are the type of people to get emotionaly attached after sex, then i'd stay away from that path.

Inevitably it will mean more to one person than the other and one will end up feeling used! What's wrong with keeping friends as friends and having a sex within a proper relationship?

Should have some loving feelings to be in that kind of a relationship. Could lose your friend over it. Wouldn't take the chance.

Yeah, but it's awfully hard (no pun intended) to keep those FWB relationships on just the "recreational screwing" level.
For one thing, the guy is going to want to more often than the girl does, usually. And if he pressures her, then she starts to feel that he considers her nothing but a life support system for his own personal recreational vagina...

Lots of "friends" have sex, but they are in a relationship(dating, or married) to each other. If it's just for the thrill and you needing attention, it won't work and your bound to ruining a friendship besides once you've been intimate with a "friend", it changes the frienship.

my friend Karen and i Had a wonderful little girl together because of just such a friendly not love based relationship.I asked her to marry me but she is bi sexual.so she said it probably wouldn't work out.But I am her father.and act like it .and do the best i can for her.Even though she doesn't wish too eat good whole natural foods.and resents me for trying to get her to eat right.so go for it with any relationship you want.
Karen and I have stayed good friends. It all depends on your attitude

No, I have noticed the guys who answered have tended to say yes but it doesn't work for females. The more intimate you become with someone the more you will love them, it's ok until the sex ends, and then the world falls down.

I started out like that with a friend 9 year ago. We've now been living together for 8 years and he is still my best friend!
