I believe that many Christians need strawman arguments in order to even be able to have a discussion with an atheist. But that's just my belief.

I think you've taken this out of context. A good number of Christians are educated enough to know that "Atheism is the disbelief in the existence of any deities..." and would assume that it is taken that when referring to Atheists that it is within the scope of Religion. Now, there is also a connotation that Atheist not do not believe in any deity but have no spiritual believes at all which is interesting. However, in my experience, most Atheists are actually Agnostics.

Doesn't Atheism pretty much mean "No Theology"?
I wouldn't expect an Atheist to believe in God, but everything else is up to the individual...

Atheist; no - belief in God...
However u do have gods... your family, your self assurance, you see Christians don't think that you believe in nothing just not the most important thing in the universe. Lastly what happens to us if we die and we are correct, we are reborn with our Lord and God living forever with him, and you end up in Hell. What happens if you are correct, we are remembered as making a difference, being loved and otherwise end up in the same state and condition as you are.

I once heard an atheist say he believed in submolecular redistribution, the Galactic Federation, and the New Constitution. But the 60's had been way too good to him.

They have been systematically brainwashed with a lot of false ideas. They even say that Muslims worship a different god, when in fact it is they who distorted original Christian doctrine to formulate a new god.

Hear, hear...
but don't forget about those Christians, and those of other faiths, that do remember that nonbelievers have values too. Don't only look to the extreme, or you run the risk of generalizing as broadly, and as dangerously, as those whom you criticize.

Belief, no matter how sincere is folly if you believe falsehood. There is no such thing as an atheist, they do not exist. Confused and ignorant people exist who lack englightenment.
A few blogbaba's exist as well.
