sun in does work. my hair is almost black naturally. sun in turned my hair orange. my friend, who had dark, honey blonde hair, used it as well. her hair turned white almost. so it depends on how dark and how coarse or fine your hair is. in my opinion, if you want highlights, get it done professionally and just tell them you want it to look sun kissed. it can be done, promise! also, the "sun" doesn't really have much to do with how the stuff works, it's just a peroxide/bleach mix. it's called sun in because it's supposed to make your hair look like you've been in the sun. hope that answers your questions.

It will work with a blow-dryer, but go easy the first time. It is hydrogen peroxide, so apply lightly the first time, then repeat gradually until desired effect is reached. If not, you'll end up with dried out, white hair. Be careful if swimming in a chlorinated pool after using, because you'll get a greenish tint unless you use a special shampoo.

My mother uses it with a blow dryer and it works great--the light of the sun doesn't activate it, the heat does...

Hi
Sun in tends to give hair a orangey tinge. It will work but its a really bad product to use on your hair. It really dries it out.
Id personally go to the salon if you want highlights!
If not then test it on the end of a tiny bit of hair so that if you dont like the colour you can just snip it off and no harm done...

it works!
test it on the bottom underside of your hair, and wait a day, and then check again.
I went from brunette to brownette/reddish tints.
If you have natural blonde high lights it will bring them out,
otherwise it will bring out the reds, and oranges.
test a piece of hair, wait a day!!!
do you have a sample of hair from you last hair cut?
my hubby has blondish brown hair, it went blonde on him.
red on me!

Depends on what other chemicals you have in your hair. DO NOT use that stuff on processed hair!
