I HAVE UNISTALLED IT AND REINSTALLED IT SEVERAL TIMES!
BUT IT STILL SAYS THE SAME THING

Try reinstalling the player or download it again. That MAY solve the problem.

1.If you have firewall be sure that WMP has access
2.Do a system restore to a date when was working properly
3.Do a windows repair
4.Reinstall windows

Quick fix would be to download Media player 11 from www.microsoft.com

Go to your control panel and check your hardware, maybe a device is not working properly.
If everything looks OK repair windows with your windows CD.
