I have never sleepwalked in my life. But I am only wondering if there is a possibility if you can trip or get seriously hurt in your sleep while sleepwalking.

Of course, you're walking about without being conscious, you don't fully perceive the world.

You can also hurt others, there was a very publicized case a while back when a man murdered his wife's parents while sleepwalking. Everyone knew he was sleepwalking because he'd done it before and it ran in his family. His grandfather was known to get up at night and cook and cook.

Hazards

Sleep walkers are more likely to endanger themselves than anyone else. When sleepwalkers are a danger to themselves or others (for example, when climbing up or down steps or trying to use a potentially dangerous tool such as a stove or a knife) steering them away from the danger and back to bed is advisable. It has even been reported that people have fallen out of windows, and died, or were injured as a result[citation needed]. However, sleepwalkers will only engage in behaviors they normally perform when awake. Sleepwalking should not be confused with Psychosis.

Sleepwalking itself can't hurt you. While sleepwalking you can hurt yourself though. I heard about a boy that walked into traffic and died. You can also do some kind of embarresing things in your sleep, my cousin went into his brothers room and peed on his bed!
