He is paying for half of the child care which is more than what i would get in child support.the kids daycare bill is $900 a month and it is just too much.

he's getting off easy, because he's supposed to pay both: child support and a percent of the daycare expenses. daycare is expensive today... and a lot of people dont realize it.

you need a child support order if you want both. if your happy with this, then leave it be.

for the record, i hope you have custody order, because they can take and keep the child(ren) anytime and there is nothing you could do about it. (I should say, nothing you can do about it until you go to court to fight to get them back....)

its for your and your childs own protection, thats the bottom line.

I run and in home and have ran a Head Start Programs for 2 1/2. It is based on the mother's income and how many children are living in the house at the time. I know that as long as your are not married. It will usually help cover some of you child care expense. I know that you can usually call and talk with someone on the child care assistance and they will tell you if you qualify over the phone. I have seen it used in different situation. One the father was in the home but didn't contribute to the family. One other situation the father was not in the home he was in jail. Then I have also seen it in the case where the mother and father where married and it still paid something. Good Luck!!!

I'm no lawyer, but maybe this depends on the state. My childs "father", if you will, dissapeared when he was almost 2. I never went after him for child support because it was not worth the drama and putting my child through that. I had childcare issues, and applied for CANI (not sure if this is only our state, or everywhere) but they assist with financial aspects. I think maybe they are affiliated with early childhood alliance??? I'm not sure. Anyway, as long as you meet their financial requirements and go to a CANI approved person/center, they will help. It is government based, but they never questioned much about the father. I said i was not married, the father took off and i didn't know where he was (i did, but they didn't need to know that) Unfortunately, their "income" level must not be set very low, because they said i made too much. (well, no, not when you then have to shell out 100+ dollars a week for regular childcare)
Anway, check with your local agencies. Sometimes they should stay out of it and NOT interfere with making losers try and pay....because that loser is not going to be forced into having an option to visit some kid he doesnt even want.
Good luck!

does the father have to be on child support??? Do you mean does the father have to be taken to court for support? If you are applying for welfare they will go after the father. If you dont want to make him pay for support, then dont apply for the state to pay for daycare because they will make you or cut you off .

You are responsible for 50% of the childs care. Its not just the father job to pay for the child just for the record.

If dad's paying child support, I would believe that is the assistance.

Yes ma'am. In order to get any government help, the baby's dad has to be on child support.
