No, but I've done the mayo thing and the egg thing and both work pretty well too. Was it cheap beer or expensive? I may just try it. :-)

I have used beer, and it does make it soft. I think what it does is remove all the build up from the products we put on our hair all the time.
Rinsing your hair with baking soda water works really well too.

I've heard of using beer as an after shampoo rinse, it's an old trick. Not sure why it works, but sounds like it does.

leaving conditioner on your hair won't harm it except you used a protein based conditioner. in case you probably did use a protein based conditioner stick to it up a deep conditioner (moisture) for half-hour.
