My family always used to tell me that A new cut would always heal faster if the bandage was taken off. After it stoped bleeding, is that true? Maby it will dry the scab faster.

Minor cuts and scrapes tend to do better when kept slightly moist. A bandaid can provide the correct amount of moisture while protecting the wound from further trauma and contamination.

No, because bacteria can get through and keep the wound from healing. What you should do is keep a bandage on during the day, making sure to apply a clean one every several hours (think 2-3 times a day). Then at night, take off the bandage so the wound can "breathe". It should heal fairly quickly without so much exposure to bacteria.

You have more chance of scarring if you let it dry out like that. You should wear a bandage until the skin closes back up then remove it to dry it up.

Letting the air get at it is correct. If you keep it wet it will take longer to heal, but if the air gets at it it will dry and scab faster.

Band aids will help keep the cut cleaner but if you apply the band aid too tight the cut won't heal as fast. Give the cut a good scrubbing & apply the strip so that air can circulate around the cut.
