Strategic intelligence deals with major issues that can change the outcome of the war.
IE: Bombing of Germany industry in WW Two was strategic as they thought it could end the war. Knowing the location of the factories was strategic intelligence. Knowing the entire disposition of all of the USSR missiles would have been vital strategic intelligence. Getting our hands on the German Enigma machine was a major piece of strategic intelligence but it had a major impact on the tactical issues as well.
Tactical intelligence deals with smaller issues that can change the outcome of a particular battle or campaign.
Knowing the size of an enemy unit coming towards you is pure tactical intelligence that can change how you fight the battle or campaign. Using the Enigma machine, the British were able to find out where the German subs were, and go after them, giving the British Navy a major tactical advantage, which after enough encounters, became a strategic advantage as well.
A quick way to compare the two.
Strategic = Top Secret = Stealth technology in the 1980s.
Tactical = Secret = Gas masks in the Gulf War were crap.

Tactical refers to small-scale or detailed, such as relating to a particular engagement. Strategic refers to large-scale or big-picture.
So, for example, knowing that 1000 enemy troops were located in California would be strategic information. Knowing they were based in a small ranch outside Modesto (hypothetical!!) would be tactical information.
If you are asking which is better as a career, it depends on your aptitudes and interests. Some people are better at seeing big patterns and finding general leads. Some are better at tracking down details.

it depends if you are more of a hands on person or a think tank.
Tactical, you are doing what the strategist suggests basically.
