Yes, you do. Also do not forget to treat the seats inside your car that is the most over looked area. You should wash bed linens in the hottest water possible. Anything that can not be washed you can buy a spray that will kill lice. Use it on the couch, car seats, and mattresses. Everything you need is available in the pharmacy section of Walgreens.

Lice can only live on a live being....once they fall off or jump off of a human head they die with in 30 minutes. It's not likely that they are in the stuffed animals and such and still alive but what I did was I put all of the pillows and stuffed animals and such in the dryer on high heat and ran it for an hour.....that will ensure they are gone. The hardest part is getting them out of the hair. After you use Rid or other solutions..rinse with the hottest water you can stand and after you comb through the hair.....use the blow dryer to dry it......lice die from heat mostly. I am so glad my kids are not in elementary school anymore...dealing with lice every couple years was such a pain. Good luck hon...oh and repeat the hair treatment in 2 weeks just to be sure.

Only personal stuff like pillows, clothes, sheets. they make a spray for carpets and furniture if they are infested. If stuffed animals were in the bed, you can tie them in a garbage bag for 2-4 weeks. (airtight). Blankets and non-washable items as well. Make sure the nits (eggs) are removed with the comb provided in the kit, or you'll be reinfested in a week.
Happy delousing!!

you dont have to wash everything. i would wash the bed sheets of the person who had it and other things in their room that the lice could be on.... stuffed animals etc.

but you dont have to wash EVERYTHING.

you do want to get a lice shampoo and comb and make sure you wash out the infected person's hair very very well.

no you dont have to WASH everything...but pillows and stuffed animals etc.put in the dryer...the extreme heat gets them off...and if you blow dry your hair almost everyday it is least likely for you to get lice than it is if you let your hair dry naturally because they cannot stand extreme heat like that
