The first website I list down here is good, simple, and thorough.

The second one seems to have more info but I'm yet to do it. It does however have a kana game which is great for learning kana.

Make sure to learn your hiragana and katakana first, it takes some time but once you know it you can read a lot of Japanese, and pronounce most of it well. After that a lot of it is simple.

I have also tried Pimsleur Japanese lessons, which is audio, but I don't like it quite as much as written because it's easier to pronounce the written stuff.

Also this third website just came to mind, it's on youtube, it has a video version with is very helpful as well. It uses both written, verbal and sketches to teach you.

Good luck, this is a very nice language choice.
