Alright, I made a mistake?

Question

I made a mistake, me and my girlfriend were talking about personal apperiances & well, I hurt her feelings, I told her its not like it bothered me but I noticed it, It's a flaw, I tried to tell her I have flaws too.. but I did hurt her feelings, She doesn't want to break up with me or anything, what can I do to make it up to her? I know she doesnt' feel that great right now, thanks for advice

i would just let it go for a few days, and then start subtly bringing up the things you find beautiful about her (don't patronize her though).

This reminds me of that joke about the wife asking the husband, "do I look fat in these jeans?"

The only answer you better give is, "gosh, no, those look a little baggy. Have you lost weight?"

You tried fixing it logically. (Told her you've got flaws too.) Logic works with guys. Women generally handle things emotionally.

Try this approach:

1) Tell her you're truly sorry for hurting her feelings. You know how much she values your opinion, and that you'd rather hurt her honestly than deceive her with a lie.* (Borrowed from a Dan Hill song)

2) Tell her that yes, it's true, we all have flaws. But it's not her flaws you focus on, it's all the positive, beautiful things about her that make you appreciate/love her. Take time to write them down on a piece of paper and break out the list at this point in the conversation. Then start listing off all the things about her that are positive. MAKE THE LIST LONG!! Be creative. Be simple. At least fill one page, preferably more. (Yeah, I know it's a lot of work, but you are trying to get out of the doghouse.)

3) Tell her that couples have fights/disagreements. And while technically, this wasn't a fight, one of us was hurt. And I hear that making up can get downright frisky. So if she's willing to put this episode behind her, we can get down to the making up part. YOW!!

4) Have a dozen roses hidden somewhere, or a new piece of jewelry for her and break it out now.

If this doesn't get you out of the doghouse, nothing will.

promise her you'll try ur best to be more sensitive with her and that you were only being frank... after all she is that close to you and you were only expressing ur honest opinion

but most importantly, show her that you love her... dont just say it.. show her,,, lift up her spirit, sit on the coach cuddle w/ her n watch her favorite show, or prepare dinner for her and dont let her do a thing, or arrange a dinner for just the two of u one a roof top... make her feel special,,, the way she is in ur eyes :)

Do something reallyyy sweet that'll melt her heart like bake her a gourmet dinner or something. Then explain everything to her and say you love her just the way she is, flaws inculded

oooh... tough one! well at least you know what you've done wrong. don't take it back, she won't believe you. you have to convince her it doesn't matter. tell her all the non-flaws she has in her appearance, everything that makes her beautiful. and everything that you love about her and who she is. then take her out to dinner and a movie and never mention it again. ooh, and buy her flowers and chocolates!!

You could do something unique to show her shes beautiful.

And tell her you love her not despite of her flaws but because of them.

hey i had the same mistake and well what i did was just hugged him and told him that i love him for who he is and that is why i am with him...and we had a huge make out section after that lol
