I know what you mean. I have hair very close to yours. my hair is pretty much straight except the ends, and i straighten them. the first thing i do is i make sure i don't go to bed with my hair wet (if you take a shower at night) that can make your hair fo all kinds of crazy things. in the morning, I spray DesignLine flat iron spray before and after i straighten. it's possible that you might need a better hair straightener. mine was about $80 i think...but its Revlon. sometimes i use my sisters though, which is a Solia. it works reeally well but those cost about $120, so that might be too expensive, along with a chi. make sure you straighten in layers, about 4 inch sections, also. Oh, and if you come your hair when its wet, that will naturally make it straighter when it dries (unless you sleep on it.) Hope this helped!!

I use detangler for babies actually lol. It really helps though, cuz it doesn't make hair sticky and it doesn't smell and plus it's cheap. I bought it for just a dollar. I just spray some in my hair, and then I straighten. I used to have have really frizzy hair and I would experiment with all types of hair products until I started using detangler and I was immediately pleased with the result.

Spray some spray on your hair before you start straightening your hair. I like using the sprays that prevent damaging you hair from the heat. I usually put some mousse in my hair the volumizing kind - then dry it... then spray it with a spray and then straighten it... works every time. Also make sure you are straightening it in smaller sections... that makes it work better too.

I would brush your hair as you blow dry it
pay special attention to the ends
that will set a general straight style
then go over it again with the straigtener
also make sure you are straightening your hair in layers
otherwise its harder for the heat to travel through all the layers of your hair

revlon sucks.
maybe invest in a better striaghtener.
chi's and coriolis' work really well,
but they're expensive.
a good, cheap straightener is probably the remington wet 2 straight.
some conairs are good. usually the more expensive ones (around $40-$50 rather than $20)
or you can just stick to blowdrying, which takes forever!

i have curly hair and I like to straighten it once in a while. I use a regular curling iron then just straighten it. but I brush it or else it would just look nasty. So you don't have to go buy something very expensive to have great hair. hope this helps.

A crappy straightner will not do anything for you.
A really good straightner is actually quite expensive, but it is SO worth it. They average around 150-300 dollars (for a professional salon straightner)
These really do work and I think your main problem is that your straightner does not have a high enough heat setting.
The hotter it gets, the straighter and smoother your hair becomes.

Garnier Fructis makes some good straightening balm. Also, gold plates work better on straighteners. Make sure its fully heated, and you may want to go slower when you straighten.
