My husband and I just got married and we had our 1st child together. (We have 3 other children from previous relationships.) I am 34 and he is 35... and we plan on having more! So, he'll be just about 40 when/if we have more. I know we're a little younger than your husband, but I do see more and more people having children later in life. Good Luck!

oh yes, and you are hearing from me right now, My Mother was 40 and my dad was 42 when they had me, I was the baby of the family, now iam 43, and I lived my life, like a spolied little brat, man i had everything i wanted, and my Dad worked on the railroad, My mother was very active, Even though she was a housewife, and mother, she also ran a hotel, with 52 bedrooms, and a resturant, And i was 8 years old, running and helping my mother in the summers, She lived all the way up to she was 79 when she passed awy, My Father is still going strong, He is 82 years old, And retired and he is a cowboy, a strong cowboy, I take care of him, But You know what though, through the years as growing up the way i did, I felt like alot of times, that my parents were my granpaprents, and the other kids snubbed me, because i lived by their rules, and they were old , But as i grew out of that, I came to realize, that when my parents actually do get old and move Ill be there for them, Soo i say , honey go for it, This baby will be your love or light of joy

Big age difference
I can not see why it's not worth a try
I can tell you, it works with people the same age
It does not work with people the same age
I married a man my own age, he died when my child was 2
Life does not come with Guarantee's
If that what you want, go for it
Take happiness when you can
Good luck
