I'm fat so I know what you're going through with greediness. What I think you should do is drink plenty of water through the day. It helps curb your appetite and avoid overeating. Water is also good for your metabolism and the healthier your metabolism is the easier it is to turn food into energy fat and all. Plus you won't have to worry about weight because water has no calories or anything. If your craving flavor use flavored water because it like regular water it has no calories or anything except for the flavor. Be careful because some flavored waters have an after taste that sometimes linger in your mouth. Hope this is useful.

well, i used to have that feeling before, of overeating, but it was such a terrible feeling! I recommend: eating slowly. This really helps you eat lesser because you begin to feel full sooner than usual. It's because the brain has time to realise that the stomach is full, and so can tell you that you're satisfied. Also, try drinking a large glass or two of water before you eat. Another tip you can try is to find healthy food you like, especially healthy snacks, like dried fruit and other small pieces of fruit, or healthy but delicious baked chips and foods. Make sure that those health foods are really delicious to you, so that you will crave those foods rather than fatty tasty foods. Make sure you buy those healthy snacks only, so you have them with you whenever you feel a hunger pang. At least you won't feel guilty about gorging on those. Good luck to you, I'm sure you will develop a strong will and will be able to overcome the cravings. BTW if you aren't fat and you eat alot it probably means you have a fast metabolism or that you're very active. So eating more isn't so bad in those cases. Make sure you keep moving though. As for sudden dieting, those never work. It's all about moderation.

I had a huge problem with being greedy. Now I feel a little ill if I get that really full feeling.
I 'trained' my stomach to do this by gradually cutting down the size of my meal, it sounds like a lot of time wasting but it work. I put everything on the scales before I ate it, every week I would cut down my portion size a small bit (so not to notice), and it worked great.
Good luck, and hope all goes well.

I got so greedy I ended up piling the weight on, I find chewing my food at least 10 times before I swallow it helps big time, I've joined Slimming World now and lost 15lb in 5 weeks and decided the best way to tackle this diet it to do the little and often part of it, six small meals a day instead of three large ones, lots of protein, veg and fruit, I feel much less hungry now I'm learning to educate my stomach and myself, good luck and hope you find something that suits you too.

I use to eat all the time and I was never fat. Every time I was slightly hungry I would take a bite of something and not even be able to ea that bite. I'm trying to eat less now and it's working good. I still overeat before I go to bed though.

I've read that it's a good idea to chew your food well and slowly, so that you digest it better, and get that comfortably full feeling before you have stuffed yourself silly! I find that it helps if I keep a nice bowl of grapes handy, and if I feel peckish between meals, I eat one or two of those - they satisfy without adding the pounds. Good luck!

I think you need to take a good look at your life and see what you're trying to compensate for. People who stuff like this (and I used to be one) are usually trying to fill their hearts by filling their mouths. We all enjoy the taste of good food, but it can't replace other things. I just saw an episode of "Friends" in which one of them is chowing down on cookies and a psychologist friend says, "Remember those are just cookies. Not love."
What's missing in your life? Meaningful relationships? Spirituality? Communication with those around you? What gaping hole are you trying to fill? Do you feel isolated from those around you?
I realised I was overweight from eating so I would eat to comfort myself. Fat because of food, food because of fat. This did not help and it took reaching 18 stone and the prospect of medical care to make me want to lose more than I wanted to eat. I needed surgery for an ovarian cyst that was making my life a misery. The dr. said, "It's a simple procedure, but of course in your case..." What do you mean "in my case?" And he said, "Well ma'am, fat isn't stable. We'd have to make a huge incision, where if you weren't so fat we could do keyhole surgery."
That woke me up. I had 6 mos to wait and managed to lose about 2 stone or bit more. I still have a way to go, and as I reach my ideal weight it gets harder, but I finally decided on health over food. When I sit down I ask myself what it is I'm doing--eating or trying to comfort myself. It helps when I'm jonesing for chocolate or something, to say, "Is it worth the calories?" Is it worth the pain I'm going to feel as my clothes get tighter and I feel more and more unwell?
It really is a matter of deciding what you really want in life--the food or the health. And finding something to replace the role of food in our lives.
Good luck--we're on your side.
