The Christian bible tells us Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father (God) except through him. The Qur'an tells us that God revealed his final message only to Muhammad and that he is the only true prophet. On the day of judgement he will be the first one to be ressurected. And the common misconception of Buddhism is that Buddha is the counterpart to God but Buddhists believe that there is no such thing as God or any supreme creator whatsoever. Yet all three of these religous figures have one thing in common. They strive to make you a better person. So if you really want to be a better person and live your life in peace, love, and happiness you can do so without having to decide which religion is right for you. Nobody knows what's going to happen after we die but if you spend your lifetime wondering what's going to happen to you after you die then you've wasted a perfectly good lifetime.

I feel that as long as you are happy and at peace then that is the right practice for you. I have difficulty when others choose to wield religion as a weapon to cause others emotional and spiritual suffering. Namaste.

If you know your history and know it well, you should know that Catholicism is the oldest religion of them all. This was the first church and was initiated by Christ himself. Catholicism was the only religion up until the 1500's with the Protestant Reformation. The "new" Catholic church(which was reformed in the late 60's, also known as Vatican II) is definently corrupt beyond belief. Being a Traditional Catholic, has challenged myself as a Christian. There are references as to what will happen to us after death(i.e. purgatory, heaven, or hell). These references can be found in the bible itself-the right one that is. You have to find the truth, which is something I did many years ago. I don't wonder what will happen to me after death. I strive to be the best Christian possible to serve and worship God, so that I may have a shot at basking in His Glory in Heaven one of these days. Soul searching is your answer my friend.

*Edit* To the person that stated that I needed to learn some history of the world's religions, I do know that Catholicism is the oldest religion after the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Before Christ there was a religion, which is obviously older than Catholicism, but I'm referring to Catholicism as the oldest since Jesus Christ. Read up on the Protestant Reformation and take note on how many different religions popped up from there. I have done plenty of research on other religions and when they were established!!!!

The best thing to do is worry about the here and now. We should all strive to be the best we can be. Religion works for some people but it is not necessary. God symbolizes peace and love and that's what we should follow.

I was a "good" person, to the best of my capability, before I became a Christian
(non-denominational) -
I also do not spend my "perfectly good
lifetime" sitting around wondering what will happen after I die.
I know exactly what will happen after I die,
and don't need to sit and mull over it.

religion is what the world has got, a good dose of salvation where a man falls down on humble knees and crys out to God forgive my sin. clean my miserable soul and make my heart pure with you divine love and forgive my wickedness. come into my life and rule my spirit and give me perfect peace . this is what man need more than any religion he need forgiven and purified..the truth is what sets men free....Jesus christ is the truth and the life he is the alpha and omega the beginning and the end...the king of kings and lord of lords, it about him not religion..

Eh, I don't see my religion as a trap. I'm free to change my mind at any time. We don't worry about any afterlife as we know that only this life is a guarantee. We try to spend this life helping others while we enjoy living.

But i dont wonder whats gona happen to me after i die, I know. I am going to heaven because i follow Jesus.

And no, i have not fallen into the rap called religion, cos to me, Christianity is wa way of life, not a religion. It is as much part of me as my name, or the colour of my hair.

Without God i would be empty and everyone who die without Jesus has gone through a life without truely living. I do not WASTE my time with God, i spend my time with God. He is always with me, i feel his presance. I do not need to take time to be with Him ,cos he is always with me.....but i WANT to take extra time to be with Him, just like i love being bith my Dad or my Brother. Cos they are my family, God is my family and my friend.

So if u tell me not to waste my time with God, u are basically telling me not to waste my time with my most valued friend and my most loving family member and my creator.

There is an essence of wisdom in religion, and it would be foolish to call religion stupid and pointless. It might not be practically applicable but it does provide stability.
