just curious as to whether there are any women out there like that? im happy being single at the moment , as im young & just having fun. But i feel bad for the horrible stigma around olda women that r single and/or childless. How do women like that feel? and are there women who aspire to be like that?

Certainly there are women like that. And there isn't a darn thing wrong with it. Some women are quite content to spend their entire lives not tied to anyone. Parenthood is not a fulfilling role for many people. Why should they bend to society's idea of what a perfect world is. In this case, what is good for the gander is not necessarily good for the goose.

I'm almost in that same boat. I feel crazy sometimes beng 30 and single never been married and no kids. Especially when both of my younger brothers have a child a piece. Everyone n my family is like hey what are you waiting on? I'm like well I'm waiting for the queen to walk into my life but it seems that she's lost somewhere. So I don't even think about it that much any more I just go with the flow. Besides you can't make someone want you. I can't lie I would love to be a husband a father some day but as I get older it just doesn't seem like it's ever gonna happen.
It's just not a female thing I tell you that. I'm with you though I said that if I don't have a child by the time I'm 35-36 then I'm just gonna forget about it. I don't want to be a 50 year old man with a 1 year old kid ya know? I won't even be able to play with the kid becuase I'll be too old to move around.

I live with my partner so am not single however, I am 40 and have never wanted to have children. Most of my friends are the same age and are in the same position - some married some not. I love my life, I have a fab job, run my own business - I couldn't be happier. I get broody moments but that is not a reason to have children. I hate the stigma that we are all sad and lonely - far from it! You don't HAVE to have children to make you happy - if this is your reason then there is something missing already in your life. The worst reason so have kids in my opinion is so you won't be lonely when you are older - how selfish is that? I had you to look after me when I am older! What pressure to put on your children. Women like that could end up not only lonely but a little bitter if their children have the cheek to get a life of their own! Women have a choice, have children is not for everybody. I feel very sorry for women a few generations ago that wanted to have a career or simply not have children but had to because of social pressure - I am glad things have changed!

Trust me, MANY women regret marrying and having kids so being single and childless is okay 100%.

I'm a mother of two, and you know, I don't get why people think there is anything wrong with a woman deciding she wants to be single and childless.
Not everyone is meant for motherhood; it's a tough job and you know, there are plenty of other tough jobs out there that don't leave time for a family. I think recognising that you don't necessarily want a family is pretty mature and gutsy. Who cares what people think? It's your life, hon!

Yes many people do and it's because they can do what they want to do. When you are your own boss, your in charge of your own life.
