I'm in the military and I was born in Florida. How was it for you? Did you get a lawyer to help with the paperwork and whatnot? Did some of the companies you have to notify give you a hard time about changing your name?

Well iam not in the military, But i had a hard time getting my name changed because Iam also from florida, And i had one heck of a time, In Florida it doesnt matter, who you are , you need about 10 proffs of I.D. Or Identification with you, You also need proper papers stating why? You need your name changed, and you need proper authorization papers from the police or Sheriffs dept, stating a written, document, I did this because The person who robbed me took all my Identification, But it took me about 3 years to do all of this

Assuming you are talking about a name change as a result of a marriage...I went through the base JAG officewhen I got married and experienced no problem whatsoever getting my name changed. They helped me with everything.
