When you are reading what someone else wrote it's not always easy to tell whether they are being humorous or sarcastic. A dry sense of humor might not translate well through the written word. People can't hear the tone of voice or see facial expressions. Also, if the person reading the answer is having a bad day he or she could misinterpret the humor to be serious (as their own mood is) and take it the wrong way. And too, some people have a mean sense of humor. I've seen totally tasteless humor on here plenty of times. The kind that makes fun of someone else or insults them. Then I've seen humor that made me laugh out loud. I guess it's different for each individual.

I think because a lot of people are tryingn to make this website a question's and answer website. Because that is the type of website its suppose to be. Most people do not want a humor answer as their best answer. I can see why that guy got upset. If you want humor that is what the joke section is for.

As the macro says, "Internet - Serious Business." Some people just can't get over the fact that they don't know the person and that they shouldn't give a damn what was said.

I've had a guy threaten to find where I live and kill me because of something I said. I really can't remember what I said exactly, but it was something about his "newborn". And this was on a forum, full of bastard regulars, about A GAME.

the undertaking isn't plenty a loss of a humorousness. it somewhat is a loss of intelligence. Your point of intelligence helps you "get" the humor. a lot of human beings, in many situations women folk, have advised me that they think of the Simpson's at the instant are not an excellent prepare and that they think of it has no humor. it is using the fact they don't understand the humor, the sarcasm, poking relaxing on the reality approximately a lot of human beings. they are offended by using the prepare simply by fact they don't understand the humor. so some distance as R&S, the point of humor is tempered by using the suggestions of the consumer and the point of intelligence of the consumer. Btw, the intelligence point in this talk board is amazingly low.

Some people are very serious about their question and really want some good quality help. I can see why they would get upset if all the answers to their question were mocking or 'humorous' as it is just a waste of their time.

But I take your point, some questions are really too 'good' to pass up a comment!

Where's the humour in your question? Gotta give it to get it. we must become the change we want to see. I think Gandi said that. Turn off the email feature. You'll stop getting those notes, and you won't have to apologize any more either.

i think in some cases it's ok and in some it's not. sometimes the asker is crying out for help and joking with them is just too insensitive and people will be hurt by things like that.
or maybe people are just boring.

Well, I get offended by some answers i get, and maybe you offended him. Some people leave rude answers, or sarcastic answers and i hate that. Maybe its suppose to be taken as funny...but it all depends on who you respond to.
