not in first aid it doesn't, don't get it anywhere near a cut, it will sting and not help the wound at all

Its not dumb at all. Yes, peroxide is a super sanitizer. I soak my toothbrush in it, clean my bathroom and kitchen with it, and even mop my floor with it. I make a hand sanitizing spray with half water, half peroxide. I spray it on my body after showering to restore the acid mantel of my skin, I spray it on my throat if I feel a sore throat coming on. I use it for everything, right down to the laundry. My daughter uses it as a facial cleanser. Google "uses for peroxide:

I suppose peroxide can be used for cleaning surfaces. However, it wouldn't be my first choice. As for wound care, it can be used initially to clean a dirty wound because it has a debriding action but should not be used thereafter.
This is not a dumb question. And, yes, you spelled sanitize correctly.

Peroxide is a good antiseptic-used for cuts and even surgeries, acting like a cauterizing agent. It bubbles and forms heat when it gets in contact with blood and when the bubbles are wiped clean, sometimes the blood oozing disappears also.

As a disinfectant for lets say your kitchen counter, peroxide does work pretty well. It kills spores and most microbes. However, because of how bad it stings and its tendency to cause scars, it isn't good to use on wounds. Best bet is good old soap and water...

cleans cuts...thats why when you put it on cuts ans scrapes this white stuff appears...that means its working!!!

no, it is not a santizer, you need something with bleach or anti bacterial, or microbial.
