Matthew 24:32-Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

Bible predictions are so vague and general that they've been happening for generations. Read your history. Since Christianity began there have been Christians who were positive, based on "bible prophecy", that the end was near.

There has been conflict in the Middle East for centuries and people have been saying it was the "end times" What makes this end time any more real?

No, no one is going to start suddenly paying attention to your bible because of wars in the Middle East.

Oh absolutely. I'm an atheist, but I believe in the power of human belief. A prophecy to me is a big prediction, a big idea to believe in, and the longer and the more people believe in it, I think it becomes more "likely" in a quantum sense. I believe that if enough people believe the end of the world is coming, the world itself will kind of "believe" them. That's why I have a problem following any religion that appears to regard the end of this world as a positive thing.

Say what?

"Peace means that they will eventually be able to rebuild the temple which will eventually allow for the anti-Christ to proclaim that he is God"

Cute. I have a whole different definition of the word peace. Oh well.

It looks to me like you're interpretting a 2000 year old book to fit what's going on now. Isreal is a fig tree? Wow. You DO realize people have been doing the same thing for 2000 years, right?

There's no 'end times' coming. So there's no need to speculate.

I doubt that you realize it, but every generation of Christians has been predicting that the End Times is just around the corner, and every generation has been wrong, just as you're wrong. Don't you think the people in the Black Plague felt that the End Times had come? And yet they hadn't. But Christians today feel that they're the chosen ones to experience End Times. This is why Athiests shake their heads. Until it happens, don't expect us to believe that it ever will.

Many atheists do not accpet the Bible because of empirical evidence that contradicts what the Bible says, e.g. geological evidence regarding the age of the Earth, physical impossibility of certain events occurring described in the Bible (Bible's claim of Enoch living to 912 years old), or peculiar omissions (the oft referred to unexplained appearance of Cain's wife).

Were there suddenly to appear empirical evidence that supported these Biblical stories, and even better, were Biblical predictions to come true, many more people would be willing to accept these Bible teachings.

One problem is, your bible "experts" can't agree on anything.
One fact is, your bible "experts" have been predicting the end of the world for, literally, 2000 years.
No, I don't think I'm gonna be paying much attention to what any of your experts have to say. They have a 100% record of failure for predicting the "end of the world".
The real question is, why *would* anyone listen to them?

Evan? Who's Evan?

No, I'm not paying attention to fairy tale predictions. I'm an adult now. You should try it some time.

p.s. You spelled atheist wrong again. I'm starting to think you're doing that on purpose.
