What kind of amp should i buy for my two 12" Kenwood KFC-W3011 subs?

please help me! i don't know anything about systems. i want to know how many watts and what other specifications do i need to look at when purchasing an amp. I want it to sound good. I purchased 2 Kenwood KFC-W3011 subs. i need an amp for them and i don't want to spend 100's of dollars on one if i don't really need to. i do want one that is going to sound good though. what are all the things i need to look at when buying an amp to work well with my speakers?

You'll want a mono amp that will produce around 800 watts RMS into a 2-ohm load. When you're shopping for amplifiers, pay no attention to "MAX" power ratings; look for "CEA-2006" which is the new amplifier ratings standard (not all companies use it). Most amplifiers will give different power ratings at 4 ohms and 2 ohms; your speakers will be a 2-ohm load so that's the rating you want to look for.

If you want to stay with Kenwood, their KAC-9103D amplifier would probably match up fairly well; but you're not limited to Kenwood.

Check on ebay. There are some diamond audio amps on there that would run your kenwood subs quite well. You can get these for around $200.00 for 800 watts which is plenty for those subs. I have used diamond audio for quite a few years and have never had a problem with any of their stuff. Great sound quality, durability,power. Never overheates either. Hope this helps.
