I have met several people I've chatted with online. Mostly it's been good. A few not who they say they are, which is why you should always meet them in very public places.

I have met a few people off the internet, and I don't recall anyone that I had wished I hadn't. Can't say I have met alot of people, maybe around 25 or so. One lady I met about 5 years ago in a popular game room that i visited every now and then. She was on the east coast I on the west coast. Things kinda clicked, we met and spent a week together. Made arrangements to meet a second time for another week and we've been together ever since. There are several ways to meet people these days and you just need to use common sense, be careful, and take your time to get to know them. If it feels right then meet.

Yes, after I'd spoken to her for several months, including video chats over MSN, and was pretty sure she wasn't a psychopath (just a little weird). She came to visit me, brought a friend, met in a public place and all the rest of those very sensible pieces of advice. We've been going out now for 8 months, we've moved in together and I'm very happy we decided to meet up. Just be careful, be sensible and let people know where you're going and with who.

Twice. I wasn't looking for any kind of a relationship except "friends" but the first person couldn't or wouldn't accept this and it got kinda ugly. The second time, I met a couple and we are best of friends. We fish, shoot pool, go out to eat, etc. Sometimes it works out, other times it doesn't. Just be careful if you do it. Meet, your first couple of times in VERY public places. And find out something about them before you commit to anything more.

oh...yeah! you must becareful though, try to always ask them for a webcam, so you know is them, then....go from there. i met a girl from chicago and one from california, and i'm from NY, i met damaris, the one from chicago, and to this day we are the best of friends, we had a relationship, but becauyse i joined the military, (US ARMY) she wasn't with it, so we broke up. the one from california, Yanet....we'll, we became friends, and we talked a lot, while i was in iraq, i felled in love with her and i told her to be my girl, she accepted....but then, things got bad, cause i got deployed to the middle east again!!! and our relationship felled apart after 3 years...we almost got married, but it was too good to be true....i would do the online thing over again, i see a good way to meet new people and friends, specially on myspace.com, the internet keep people connected and together in a good way, it's just depends how it goes after you meet them. but be careful.

It is a good idea to meet in a public place first and foremost especially since you just met them online.
