would 2 12" JL Audio's sound better then 2 12" Alpine Type R's with 2 6.5" Polk component speakers??

both are overated, and JL is hella overpriced. do yourself a favor, and before you buy either listen to a Boston Acousitcs G5. there $400 retail, but you can get them on ebay for about $200. just listen to one if you can find it, and i can almost promise you it'll be the sub you end up with.

bang for your buck the alpines are a good choice but if money dosnt concern you go with the w6s 2 w6 10s will sound better then the 12 rs jl is cleaner and picks up cleaner low freaquency waves also jl is just top notch bragging rights.

I have heard both subs. Both are really nice sounding subs but out of my opinion JL subs sound better. They are a bit tighter and cleaner and hit harder than alpines. But its a pretty close match. This is based off the JL W3. The w3 was a bit louder than the alpine too.

JL is the best in sounds. Apline is only good with like tv units.

ive heard alot about jl and ive heard type rs and i liek the type r's. so id say either way ur getting a good deal.

type rs are very loud and make alot of noise, but jls hit real tight and clean
