BEWARE....you think he's a guy, you think he's nice, he could be your best friend's dad or your history teacher or another girl...you don't know WHO it is behind the computer. If he's sincere have him meet you WITH YOUR MOM or another ADULT (not a girlfriend) someplace other than your house. If he's a creep he'll take off if he's legit he'll be glad to meet your family. NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER MEET this guy alone. I don't care what he says DON'T DO IT.

Online dating is okay, but you must be very careful. Ask him a million questions via e-mail first. What kind of music does he like? What qualities does he like in girls? Make him describe his ex-girlfriends, why did he break up with them. How many friends does he have? Does he have a job? You get the gist. If he checks out okay, then you can proceed to the exchanging numbers phase. Talk alot, get a feel for who he is. When you do finally decide to meet him, DO NOT GO ALONE!!! Take a girlfriend(s) with you. In addition, tell other people where you are going, and meet in a very public place. Hope I was of some help, and be safe!

Gosh, I hope so...I like a lot of the people I've met online.
If you mean the boyfriend/girlfriend kind of "like", then I don't think there's anything wrong with that, either...but just understand that you can't get to really know someone just chatting online.
There are other potential problems, too. If you both live a great distance from one another, then face it...nothing romantic is liable to happen. But if you live fairly close, then you can always agree to meet (somewhere VERY public, for safety....maybe the food court of a big shopping mall?) and get to know each other in person a little.
Good luck!

Odds are good that he is a creep. However with emails and care-full screening you can figure it out before you meet him.

I met all of my net connections at a restaurant where they knew me well. If we left to go somewhere else I would make them show me ID. I would write down the info and give it to my friend the hostess. telling her if my car is still here in the AM tell the police this is who I was with. Did this every time. One guy actually left me once he found out my intentions. Thank God.

Meet in a highly public place like a mall food court if you really want to meet him. To not give out any personal information like your phone number, address, place of employment, or tell him what kind of car you drive. I have sucessfully met some people online but be careful. If anything he tells you seems to be a big lie run the other way.

Man you only live once,
why would you break it off with him
he could be amazing.
i've fell head over heels for someone
online.. he wasn't a creep at all.
we still talk and things are great.
We will never date but it's always nice to
have friends from different areas in the world.
So even if you don't think you'll meet this
guy or don't want to meet him..
why can't you guys talk?

yes it's ok. but be cautious & dn't let ur gaurd down if u both plan on meeting sumplace. its almost a 50/50 chance hes a perv cuz of the things you hear on the news & stuff. try outsmarting him while u get info bout him to see if he's telling the truth.

Here's a tip: if he wan'ts 2 meet @ sum place where ther are no ppl around, then he's a total creep.

Sure its okay. In some cases getting to know someone online may open you up to know so much more than with traditional meetings however please be careful because everyone is not honest and there are plenty of crazy people out there to prey on you. Just be careful and never give up too much information via the internet.

How come you understand a person by playing games and e mailing him on line. I consider having only friends on line and not beyond that.

I think you should be careful. There is no way of knowing that this guy is who he says he is. You don't necessarily need to break it off with him completely, but if you are thinking of meeting him in person you should do it in a very public place, perhaps with a friend in tow.
