my answer is very dated due to the years that have past...I was badly burned and stopped off there on my way to Ft Sam Houston...the time I spent was very comfortable,it was clean and the people treated me good...long time ago though(31M4S)

Never been at Walter Reed, but I have been to a few others. I have been to the one in Richmond Va, Minneapolis/St Paul Mn, and Rochester Mn (this one is only a few years old) And I was pleased with the care I got in all of them. The one in Minneapolis Should have been updated 20 years ago, but the facilities are all in great shape. It all boils down to the person in charge of EACH facility.

I'm ex-military (Army), Vietnam era vet....MOS is ts/crypto.
It was my good fortune never to have spent any time at WR but I think the situation there is appalling and America should be embarrassed (and we are) by this revelation as to the deplorable conditions there.

I wasn't but my brother-in-law was for his broken leg. He said it was awful, but he couldn't go anywhere else. He only spoke of the facilities, not the medical care.
