Yes, that's what I had to do with mine. It's not so fun, with lots of knuckle-whacking action, but if you have to stick the inner door panel back on, use 3M double-sided tape. It's the only thing that kept my darn door panel from catching on the doorframe afterwards. Good luck hon. Like women, Volvo's are nice to have, pretty, and fun to show off. But very expensive and if you break them, you gotta pay. i call mine the "wallet sucker" (the girlfriend and the car haha)

there are cilps on retainer pins at bottom edge of panel and 2 under the speaker cover these must be plucked out before the panel is lifted or pulled on don't forget to remove 1/4 twist pin and escutcheon from inside release. carefully lay back the weather sheet and the balance of what you need to do will be apparent

Yes you will have to remove the door panel,, as far as i can remember there a bit tricky mate,i done one maybe a year ago, whatever you do dont pry or pull to hard, there a bit flimsey, if ya can afford or are not to handy with the tool's get a garage to do it,
