Has anyone succesfully added Welbutrin to their Prozac therapy in order to combat a decrease in libido from using Prozac?

More info: Prozac alone works well for my depression, Welbutrin alone does not. I have heard that combining the two allows the Prozac to work w/o sexual dysfunction.

I took Prozac and Wellbutrin for YEARS and it worked great. Give it a try. Wellbutrin works much more quickly than Prozac, so if you are going to have a negative reaction to it, you will know within a day or two.

Don't let a few isolated incidents scare you. Every individual is different. I certainly would advise caution, but I am living proof that a) it can be done and b) it can be very effective.

I'm not an MD but I've taken Wellbutrin and totally loved it. It was the best decision I ever made in my life. What I don't understand is why take both. It would be like taking an Advil to follow a Tylenol. They're the same thing.

Wellbutrin won't increase libido. It only "doesn't" decrease it. Prozac decreases it. So I don't think that will work.

I'd talk to the doc about losing the Prozac and going on Wellbutrin (unless you have seizure issues). Wellbutrin rocks and with no decrease in libido, you're good to go!

Cocktail of Death. OMG I have two friends who tried Welbutrin and both almost committed suicide. I think this drug should be taken from the market. If you add Prozac to the equation you are just going to get fried.

It might work. They added Buspar to help with libido to my friend's perscription. Replacing Pozac with Wellbutrin would be a more likely scenario,.

I haven't tried Wellbutrin in conjunction with another anti-depressant, but it works well for me on its own. Just because some people's chemistry don't handle it well doesn't make it a bad drug altogether.
