I am thinking about taking my bicycle to work. It's a regular bicycle (not a sports). I will have my backpack with some books and my lunch with me when i travel.

I am trying to calculate how long it would take me to get to work.

Anywhere from 15-30 mph, depending on a lot of factors. See the answers here:

I commute to work. It's about 22 miles and takes about an hour and 10 minutes. But if you have a lot of hills or a lot of red lights to deal with on your commute, it may take longer. Best thing to do is make a dry run on the weekend and just see how long it takes.

There is no right answer, sorry. Some variables are how hard you push on the pedals, hills, how smooth your bike wheels rotate, chain (rust, dirt). There are alot of things that need to be calculated, i would say that it is impossible to say a correct answer.
