How do you deal with it and remember you grew up with this person played with them as a kid and now they are guilty of this terrible crime and will be locked up.??????

When a person commits a crime it means they have made wrong choices in life>and if they go to jail for it then they pay for the crime.But they are still the same person you knew or know.......you dont have to agree with their actions or decisions but can be there to support positive ideas and future goals if you care about this person.My brother in law was in jail for murder(self defense but whatever) he is a good soul who was at the wrong place at the wrong time.When i met my brother in law he was 13 and he was scared of the dark so we are who we are

If he was found guilty of the crime, learn to live with it. You didn't cause his problem, and you can't cure it. Spend your energies on things you can change, hon, not on things that are not in your control.

It's unfortunate that the families of the criminal and the victim and victim's families all have to suffer because of the actions of one person. Get counselling, a professional can help you deal with your feelings.

It happens.. Be there for the person (if you can) go to visit them and send them letters to help them through the ordeal.
