222 is an aspirin based pain releiver with a tiny amount of codeine in it.

It usually is sold from behind the counter by the pharmacist, it is not usually by prescription only.

it is not on the shelves with ready access because of the codeine content.

The prescription drug of the same nature is the "292"

it is the same pill with more codeine in it.

222's are a major pain reliever. They are not available without a prescription. I don't know if the r on the flip side means it is the same pill, but if you don't know what it is, don't take it. If someone has OD'd on it, take it to the ER where they are being treated.
