for every single marriage that Prophet Muhammed took there was a reason bestowed upon him by God. It is not because he loved women because if you looked at all the women he married the were widows or divorced or older and this is mercy from God in order to show humanity to have mercy on these women. The only virgin he married was Aisha. One wife he married was christian to show that it is ok to marry a women that is a christian or jew another he married because she was devastated that her husband died at war and no one could replace him and when the prophet proposed she was thrilled, Aisha he married because she was young and was able to memorize the prophet's sunna and pass it on etc... this was only made to the prophet but Muslims are supposed to maintain one wife and treat her properly or a max of 4 with special conditions which God said no human can maintain which is equality in feelings, money and time spent.

God is not supposed to be questioned and give reasons but we can easily understand His wisdom. We Muslims know every thing about our beloved prophet PBUH and his pure wives and if you spend some time studying the life of the prophet and his multiple wives you will easily discover that sex was not his main interest and I can go into the details but it may be very long for such a post. In brief I just want to say that Mohammad PBUH married for the first time hen he was 25 year old and his wife was a widow who was 15 years older than him. He lived with her for 25 years and never married again till she died and he was older than 50 years. In the last 10 years of his life he had multiple marriages for different reasons but most of his wives were elderly widows. If Mohammad was interested in sex as you try to indicate why he never had illegal sex when he was young, single, and he lived in a free society who had free sexual relations a situation he managed to successfully solved.

on a similar time as you're searching for a intense answer: the Koran easily says ""Marry women human beings of your selection, 2, or 3, or 4; yet on a similar time as ye difficulty that ye shall now no longer have the skill to deal justly (with them), then relatively one." [Al-Qur'an 4:3]" A legalist interpreting is which you're relatively allowed as much as 4, provided you could take care of them justly. inspite of if or now no longer a Muslim can marry 5 or extra desirable is unspecified. it somewhat is not prohibited (in diverse words, there is not any longer any line that broadcasts "yet no extra desirable valuable than 4"). As for emulating Mohammed...he lived with out air con, the internet, and cellular telephones. only as a results of actuality somebody is a place sort would not advise you could want to be a applicable replica.

First of all, its not for only prophet Muhammad(pbuh) who had more than 4 wives........it goes for all prophets .....most of the prophets we polygynous.....Soloman had hundreds of wives....Abraham had three, and so on....So its of no surprise if Muhammad(pbuh) also had many ! well if you give the actual verse, it would make it clear instead of saying it in your own wordings which is giving it a bad look !
[33:50] O prophet, we made lawful for you your wives to whom you have paid their due dowry, or what you already have, as granted to you by GOD. Also lawful for you in marriage are the daughters of your father's brothers, the daughters of your father's sisters, the daughters of your mother's brothers, the daughters of your mother's sisters, who have emigrated with you. Also, if a believing woman gave herself to the prophet - by forfeiting the dowry - the prophet may marry her without a dowry, if he so wishes. However, her forfeiting of the dowry applies only to the prophet, and not to the other believers. We have already decreed their rights in regard to their spouses or what they already have. This is to spare you any embarrassment. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful
Now See the following pragraph !
"No great religious leader has been so maligned as Prophet Mohammed. Attacked in the past as a heretic, an impostor, or a sensualist, it is still possible to find him referred to as "the false prophet." A modern German writer accuses Prophet Mohammed of sensuality, surrounding himself with young women. This man was not married until he was twenty-five years of age, then he and his wife lived in happiness and fidelity for twenty-four years, until her death when he was forty-nine. Only between the age of fifty and his death at sixty-two did Prophet Mohammed take other wives, only one of whom was a virgin, and most of them were taken for dynastic and political reasons. Certainly the Prophet's record was better than the head of the Church of England, Henry VIII."
(Geoffrey Parrinder, Mysticism in the World's Religions (New York: Oxford University Press, 1976, pg. 121)
this is stated by a non-muslim
Muhammad(pbuh) was allowed first becuase he was a prophet just like other prophets and secondly his marriages had some motives behind...mostly political which was needed at that time for the servival of Muslims and i think this was the reason that God permitted him to marry many women!
One can not call him a lustful person as he has married a 40 years old woman when he was 25 and he was very loyal husband untill her death and they lived for 15 years...and secondly he didn't kept them all togather, some of them died and then he went for other.
Second verse is about the wives of muhammad(pbuh) and not about other ladies. or who were waiting for thier turn to marry him ! it just describes the equality between all of his wives so as to fullfil their rights with full justice !which is very important in islam......treat all the wives equaly !

There was a condition to 4 wives also that you must treat them all the same. other men probably would not be able treat all their wives equally. He was the Prophet of God and would not abuse his wives.....but how can you trust other men to do this. Most men couldn't afford to have more than 4 and would not be able to provide what was all the wives' rights.

The easiest thing would be to claim that Muhammad wrote the Quran and thus approved of his own deeds.
The problem with this is that Muhammad could or read or write.
So perhaps he dictated his whims to a literate colleague.

This is why Allah is not God. Many people say that the Christian God and Allah are the same, they're not. Mohammed made Allah up in his effort to spread Arab dominion. They believe that Arabic is God's language and that Mohammed split the moon. Did you know Mohammed slept with Aisha when she was 9? She was his wife and he raped her when she was only a child. Some prophet.
