In Missouri there is not a law that requires an employer to give you breaks during your 8 hour shift. The law only states that if you work longer than 40 hours a week you will get over time for anything over 40 hours. Most companies allow workers a 10 to fifteen min. break once in the morning and once in the afternoon. If you are working for a non union employer then you need to negotiate a reasonable time for a small break if conditions allow you to.

The federal government sets the mandates not the state! Under normal circumstances you are entitled to one fifteen minute break for each four hours of scheduled work, or, two (2) per eight hours. In addition, during an eight hour scheduled day you are entitled to a half-hour break for meals, rest, etc. The company does not have to pay for this half hour.

If your company does not comply you may want to check on compliance to other mandates. Is a MSDS Info Sheet, a MSDS station, Minimum Wage Notice, etc. in place? Both OSHA and State Employment agencies would be interested in the violation of the postings and failure to comply. You can make your complaint anonymously

In most states, if you work anything over six hours, you are entitled to 1 - 30 minute break or 2 - 15 minute breaks. An 8 hour day would give you a 30 minute lunch break and two 15 minute breaks, or a 1 hour lunch break. Check with your local labor board or union steward if you are in a union job.

well according to "California we'd get 3 daily here because
the first two is a short 15 min like 9:00am to 9:15 am
then other 10:00am to 10:15 am also lunch break until
12:30 afternoon ok? see that depends upon other state police department's time Schedule which it could be different
