I think you are worried about nothing. Besides at this age they might even still be playing flag football, which doesn't require tackling. If your son ever does decide to play real football, they teach them how to tackle properly and how to be handle being tackled. Many things our children do are dangerous including, almost any sport, riding in a car, riding a bike, climbing a tree, or whatever. We can't protect them from everything, but we can make sure they take reasonable precautions. Trust me most every school would take these precautions, because if anything happens to a child they can be sued. Research a little on the Internet and ask the school or community program that you are looking into, they will have more info.

My son has played little league football for the past two years. He started when he was seven. Its really not as rough as you're imagining it to be. Yes, it is tackle but i havent seen a kid get critically injured yet. Not to say that it couldnt happen, but you cant shield your son from every small thing. Let him have fun and play foot ball if he wants to. You'll be glad you did!
you should let him play he will be fine they aren't as rough in childrens football as they are in the nfl he will be fine
little league football is not dangerous. let him play. he will make tons of friends and get healthy exercise in and perhaps find a true passion in life which can lead to bigger and better things. they will be well protected and at that age no one will be head hunting.
There is an element of danger to any sport. However, little leagues usually go out of their way to make it as safe as possible. He may sprain something or get some bumps and bruises, but he won't have any serious injuries. And a few bruises won't hurt him - little boys are supposed to beat themselves up now and then.

I know you always hear about people getting hurt playing football, and how it's dangerous, but football is the best thing you can do for a young boy. It will keep him in shape, he'll become mentally and physically stronger. He'll learn discipline. He will have more friends that are his teammates, he'll have a higher self esteem. The earlier you let him play, the better he will be, and the happier he will be.

From what I remember, little leauge football is based on weight and age. weight as in a weight limit for how big the kid can be to play running back or whatever. no one wants their 7 year old 55 pound child to try to tackle a 10 year old that weighs 85 pounds. Most of the time it is fairly safe. let him play and see if he likes it

OK, I'm still young to have a child, but i would let my future boy play if he wants. LITTLE LEAGUE FOOTBALL IS NOT DANGEROUS! he might fall once or twice, but no biggy. people fall hurt themselves in every sport, but this is little league. so it's meant for little kids, so LET HIM PLAY! I know that you care a lot for him, but if you really LOVE him this is a way to dhow your love, he is waiting for you to say "yes". PLEASE LET HIM!anyway, he would have a healthy life if you do let him.
if you think he might have problems because he get seizures, he won't get one by just playing football! OK? DON'T WORRY!MAKE HIM HAPPY!

You have every right to be worried...Shows you are a good mother and love your son!!! My sister had her 7 yr old son in football where they tackle one another...that was rough and he did get hurt a few times so she took him out and signed him up for flag football....it's the same thing expect instead of tackling you, they take your flag. Much safer!!!
