Goodness no.
You're absolutely right, people far too often mistake their feelings for truth. Faith is not a valid epistemological procedure. Feelings are a really crummy way of ascertaining the truth value in a claim or concept.

This is how i see it.
point one: Jesus Christ we have to have faith in; this is true.
Jesus isnt going to come to us in person just cause we want proof. Faith is an important part in believing in Jesus.
point two: weather we have faith or not it doesnt change the truth of Jesus Christ. Truth that the bible shows us. Truth in what is presented to us in ourselves and in life.
point three: We will have faith and believe things to be true when they are not. We have to intelligently come to our own terms of what the truth really is. Truth is vast, has many perspectives but only one truth.
The truth of Jesus Christ never will change. The Holy Bible Authorized King James is such a Truth. The lessons we learn from the bible shown in life amplifies that truth. Our faith supports this truth.
conclusion: No we shouldnt use faith in place of truth since our faith doesnt change what is true. Jesus Christ is truth and in the end all truths are made known. Truths as presented in the bible and made manifest through life.
But not everything people claims to be true is in actuallity true it might be just there interpretation or opinion.

Faith and truth are 2 different things. Faith is counting on something to be true. Truth is true. Once a truth becomes part of your consiousness, your faith can evolve to deeper places. Enjoy

Faith in Scripture means 'putting your trust' in it totally...
" I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life; no man can come to the Father except through me". -- Jesus Christ (Jn. 14:6)

Faith is trusting and relying on the Truth of God's Holy Scriptures and Who He Is, Our Lord and Saviour.
Romans 8:11 - But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
1 Corinthians 2:10 - But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
2 Corinthians 7:13 - Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.
Ephesians 3:16 - That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
1 John 4:13 - Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

Some know because they believe and some believe because they know. I agree, we all should distinguish between what we know and what we don't know. How else will truth be arrived at?

That is YOUR truth, its not mine...Faith and Truth are not the same and do not mean the same...though you have to have faith in the truth and faith in trust and trust in truth. 2BEE

Jesus has actually saved me. I KNOW this because he has actually saved me. I do not even resemble who I used to be ten years ago. I don't even look the same.
