I am actually not Christian, I am agnostic. Thsi means I think it is impossible to know if there is actually a God. While there may be a God, I don't know if there was Adam and Eve. I think that we evolved from our ape-like ancestors, because there is proof. Besides from the Adam and Eve thing, more about evolution vs. bible, I read Inherit the Wind last year, and there was a good point brought up in the trial. Th e world may have been made in 7 days, but that doesn't mean 7 24 hour days. God's 7 days could have been much longer. Maybe it was God that made us evolve into what we are. And scientists believe our brains may still be developing. What if God's 7 days aren't over yet? What if God's 7 days will never be finished? If there is a God, s/he is certainly capable of a lot. And I say s/he because just because Jesus was a man doesn't mean God is a man.

At some point in time a female ancestor of homo sapien sapiens got the divine equivalent of a "zap" from God and was blessed with a human soul, made in the image of God. We may as well call her Eve, though in reality she was probably known as the Third Grunt from the Right or something along those lines (after all, these ancestors weren't exactly Mayfair material).
According to mitochondrial DNA (which is carried by both sexes but passed on ONLY by the female, Adam would therefore be her son (probably named the Third Grunt from the Right's boy, Unk the Hunk).
But yes, when God "zapped" 'em they and all their descendants became real people, not just primates or even hominids.

Yes, God made Adam then Eve from Adam's rib or side.
I heard it put this way; God made Eve from Adams side so he would hold her close love her and she would love and hold him dear to herself....nice thought huh?

Did Napoleon exist? How about Alexander the Great? Ben Franklin? How do we know any of these people really existed? Historical accounts? If that's the case, then there is a historical record of Adam & Eve recorded in the bible. If that's not enough, then it is arguable that nobody existed!

If you believe the Bible, they did. And if you DON'T believe the Bible, they DID. It doesn't matter what you believe, the truth never changes!
So yes, they sure did exist and were very real people.
