I just dropped two pieces of paper from the roof of my house. One traveled to the ground much faster than the other. How could that happen?

Most logical answer please...it is not an in depth answer.

Even if the paper is folded, the mass of two paper are still the same, so to add mass, one of the paper is wet? so the wet one will fall faster than the one that is dry.

you never stated that you drop them at the same time, so i guess...

you drop one of them first then follow by another?
so the one u let go first will reach the ground first. just a wild guess for fun. :)

But the thing is...weight has nothing to do with how quickly something will fall *nods* if you dropped say an orange and a brick they'd land at the exact same time...if you dropped them at the same time that is...so I'm assuming that you dropped one first before the other..or perhaps you dropped one off of a higher point.

They fall from the same height, from your roof. Weight doesn't really matter, acceleration of gravity "g" is the same for all bodies. They would fall at the same moment if it weren't for air resistance. So I suppose one of them is folded or has the shape of a ball. Anyway, the one with the smaller syrface should fall faster. This is a "jokes and riddles question" not a "Science category"question.Hope you didn't get bored!

You were playing rock, paper, scissors. On your first turn you put paper and got cut by scissors. On your second turn you wrapped your paper around a rock. The paper around the rock fell down faster than the paper that was cut.

One was a big bill?

or

One piece of paper was wrapped round a brick?

or

One piece was the size of a stamp and the other was a roll of wallpaper?

Anyway - whose going to pick up all this paper?
