It depends on the country you are in. For example, in Argentina they say "la Argentina". In other countries, they don't.
So both are correct and which one sounds better would depend on where you are.
I would go with the simple one (Estados Unidos y Argentina), though. I think it's the one that would sound better in more places.

Visitamos los Estados Unidos y Argentina.

OR

Visitamos los Estados Unidos y la Argentina.

Estados Unidos always has "los" in front of it in Spanish. The reason I gave the option of "la Argentina" is because that is how many people refer to it - "La Argentina". But you can drop the "la" and it will sound fine.

It's true that some countries are often used with their corresponding articles e.g. el Perú, la India, la China, los Estados Unidos, but most are not used in conjunction with the article. Fuimos a Argentina is a lot more common than Fuimos a la Argentina. so i would say only use it with the ones listed above, not so much with the rest.

Both are OK.

It is allowed to use the article before the name of some (not all) countries, like Estados Unidos y Argentina.

So both are correct.

And don't listen to those who say that "Visitamos Estados Unidos..." is incorrect. It's absolutely correct.

The second one sounds more natural, it's how I would say it (I'm a Spanish native speaker). Despite that, both of them are correct.
