One of my co-workers was calling me and my supervisor young (we're in our 20's and she's a grandmother) so last week I hit back and called her old, then she turned around and told our manager that I was harrassing her! My manager turned around and told everyone that this "isn't a playground" (I work at a CASINO!) and we needed to be nice to each other. We're not allowed to say anything that might offend someone else, I'm upset because that's my entire vocabulary. What are some polite ways to call someone old, because right now I have no idea how to insult my other co-workers who knows that when I call them old, I'm teasing! And also stating a fact!

The work place is no place for name calling of any kind. If you must refer to someone's age and they are "older" you could just call the individual, Grams or Gramps. Mature is another acceptable term.

Never call an elderly woman old, or even elderly, the polite term is "mature".

It isn't a playground is right. I'm 24, and call them "elders." That's how I was raised. Besides, neither of you seem to get that age has nothing to do with your work. Get to work and don't worry about who called whom what.

Well you're in your twenties but it is never too early to learn this lesson. (Which you just did) Never get into a spitting contest with a camel.
People will accuse you of spitting and they will be right.

If you really want an older woman to feel old, call her "maam". Repeatedly and in front of people.

Call them "cellulite bags", "estrogen deficient", "testosterone deficient", "succumbed to gravity", "brain cell depleted", "memory bank challenged" or "slow movers".
