I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy a little over 4 weeks ago, I am not breast feeding and I followed all the typical care to help my milk to dry up, but I'm still leaking!! I just wondered if anyone else had this problem? I have my PP check-up in about a week and a half , I plan to talk with my Doc then if it persists, but it's driving me crazy. This is my second child and with my first, it cleared up right away. Thanks in advance!

It's very normal. Your body just went through a ton of hormonal changes, all of which culminate in your breasts producing a LOT of milk, intended for your baby's consumption, and in less modern times, ensuring his survival. Sometimes the medications can result in a "rebound" supply after initially suppressing lactation somewhat.

Cabbage leaves are a traditional lactation inhibitor. Refridgerate the cabbage, then take two leaves and crush the veins a little. Place them on your breasts and leave them there until they warm to body temp and wilt. Repeat 2-3 times a day. Any cool compress will help ease pain from engorgement, but cabbage leaves will reportedly actually reduce milk supply.

Another suggestion, though, is not to let that milk go to waste! If you find you are dripping, you could collect the milk in a clean cup or bowl, and add it to your son's formula. Or you could donate it to a milk bank-- there are sick babies out there whose moms can't breastfeed, who are in dire need of human milk.

Aw, man. Is there any chance you could pump your milk and donate it to a baby (or give it to your baby?!).

The body is doing what is natural - there are very few reasons not to give a baby breast milk!

I heard antehistamines work well to dry up nasal ducts and mammaries, too..

I leaked for almost a year, until I ended up pregnant again...and it stopped immediately after becoming pregnant. I also produced milk from when I was only 9 wks pregnant...crazy!

I was still leaking at my pp checkup. Its normal. I would justsuggest that you continue to wear a form fitting bra at all times, that seemed to help me.

You can keep leaking for a long time. Its natural, your baby triggers it

Try drinking peppermint tea. We do that here in Europe.
