but the point of everything that has been written is to be short and unclear!

"How much of Christianity was made up by clerics and theologians because the NT stories are short and unclear?"
Well. we have manuscripts older than Augustine and Constantine, so we can look for any changes they might have made and note them. It's true that through deceit the Masorites changed certain verses in their scripture to influence Christianity. They changed Psalm 8 for instance, but the errorwas caught by translations newer to the King James Version.
"Should it really be called Augustinianity or Constantinianity?"
You can call it anything that you want. A Christian is a Christian because he or she puts their trust in God through Jesus Christ.

Well, let's look at your premise:
The Church gave us (canonized) the NT - not the other way around. There was a time when there was no NT "Scriptures" in one volume - so - much was oral (Apostle's) Tradition.
Since we believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, and all Baptized persons are the members - Jesus Christ being the Head - - then we believe that she (the Church) was filled with the Holy Ghost at the first Pentecost.
God gave Bishops (like Augustine) and Councils (like the one called by Constantine) to govern the Body here on earth.
It was not "made up" - it was "revealed".

Not near as much as you think. St. Paul had a lot to do with it......Read it over again. And remember, there are many other books that were originally in the Bible but for some reason or another were voted out. Some of the ideas, etc. come from those books.

Does it matter? We are called to follow his teachings, so read it for yourself and try and live the best life you can, try and be as jesus was when he was here and dont put so much into "religion". Thats why god gave you your own mind! use it! They can help you to see things in a different ligth and are needed for most. but if anyones teachings are not in line with the word they are wrong, even if you are the pope himself. to be christain means to be christ like. what the world calls christianity is made up of religious practices not whats in your heart. thats what jesus cares about, your heart!

I would say ALL of it was either made up or stolen from other, older religions. Check out the story of Mithra, some 800 years before christianity. The story will sound strangely familar.

This is the heart of the Gospel.
1 Cor. 15:1-4
I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you--unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
That is really the core. The rest God will judge accordingly.

What if heaven and hell are exactly the same except for one difference? What ever you picture in your head heaven to be, imagine hell to be the same except for one difference. Everything you can do in heaven you can do in hell except for one difference. The difference is love or dominion. If you choose love you are in heaven, you are sharing love/joy/fellowship, absolute bliss in all you do.
If you choose dominion you are in hell, everyone will be dominion bent, acting without regard to anything but personal pleasure, personal gain, exercising power over others. Everyman for himself in all that is done. Everything else is the same.
Now which path do/will you choose? LOVE or DOMINION
Need more info: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jbonner/
P.S. Doesn't hell feel a lot like earth?
P.S. S. If you choose dominion click on exit, there is nothing here for you.
