i really like this guy but everyone thinks he is a nerd and he asked me out what sould i say i am like really popular

if they are really your friends then it shouldnt matter who you are going out with....if you were to turn this guy that you like down just because others find him a nerd that is really shallow!

If you really like this guy than give him a chance.Step into his shoes for once.Do you think he cares what others think?Probably not.How would you feel if you were in his position?Because you were considered a nerd nobody would ask you out.Look on the inside.Apparantly there is something special about this guy otherwise you would'nt like him.I say forget popularity for once and go for it.If any of the other "Popular" folks really like you they will except it.You are your own person dont act a certain way just to follow the group.You will be a better person for it!Go for it!

You're probably popular for many things, including your personality right? So if you go on a date with this guy who cares? It's not like you're going to catch the "nerd germ" and all of the sudden change who you are. If your popular friends look down on that and harass you for going on a date with someone you like, then they are not your real friends. Popularity in high school is really cool... until you graduate and move on with your life, then it doesn't really matter if you know the head cheerleader, all that matters is that you're happy and succeeding in life.

if you're really popular with the people around you it wouldn't make any difference whether he was popular or a nerd. a guy like that would probably do just about anything to make you happy...do the cool guys do that for you?? besides wouldn't his status rise by going out w/someone popular? then maybe people wouldn't consider him to be a nerd!

Well, which do you value more:
Being happy? or, Being popular? Trust me, they're not synonyms.
If you want to try happiness, go out with the guy, high school doesn't last forever, and you probably won't see 75% of your "friends" after high school.
Or, you can be popular during high school, and have a sinking feeling in your heart every time you see him in the hallway.
PS. "nerds" in high school usually go on to higher education, after which they make LOTS of money... so... if you're popular that is probably really important to you.

You should think for yourself and not worry about what other people think of what you do or who you like. That's what will make you cool. By the way, being "popular" means nothing after you graduate from high school. The truly successful people in life are the people who are not afraid to stand up for what they believe in and they don't care what anyone else thinks of their healthy decisions.

Your friends should like you even if they think the guy you like or date is a nerd only bad friends wouldn't accept you anymore as the friend they know.

You might start by reducing your usage of the word "like".
I would not recommend dating him, mainly because you probably care about your popularity more than you care about reaching out to experience something entirely new and different.
Dating someone that might cause your friends to look down on you is something that people with character do.

ok life should not be a popularity conest! if you like him then f everyone else who has there nose in the air and just do what will make you happy, stop worrying about ur rep.! say yes and make both of you very happy. you'll make the better decision...
