Transformers either step up or down the voltage. Voltage up - amps down. Amps up -voltage down. The particulars depend on the windings in the transformer and which side the incoming current enters.
Transformers are air cooled or have oil inside them for cooling.
Some are variable in their output such as one for a toy electric train, a sewing machine, etc.

False - the transformers at the power plant step the voltage up (so it can be transmitted further) then the transformers on the pole in front of your house step the voltage back down.

False As you get step up and step down transformers

FALSE.

Transformers multiply voltage, and the multiplier can be any practical number, either less than or greater than one (1). Transformers work only with AC (alternating current).

You can find the information you need much more easily by doing your own internet search on "transformer" or "basic electric circuit." You will get more accurate information and you can see pictures, diagrams, tables, and other supporting information that will make the information more useful.

If you really want to be cool, you can go to the library and look it up where you can spread the information out for most convenient study. That's what's cool.
