Usually a day or so after I shave my face, I'll get tons of mini pimples clumped in the areas that I was shaving. They're usually small enough to rub at with a kleenex to get rid of the whiteheads, then i through on some aftershave to try and kill the bacteria, but is there a way to avoid the pimples altogether?

I USED TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I found I had a hypersensitive skin allergic to all the harsh ingedients(chemicals) in many of soaps and face cleaners and other products. They would dry out and denature my skin of natural oils. So before I shaved I first massaged skin with pure natural oils - this heals and revitalizes. Coconut, vitamin E and flaxseed oils work well. Do not using shaving creams - most are not good for skin but instead apply a body lotion cream like Lubriderm on top of the oil and then shave. You will be amazed at the difference it makes. You will find that you don`t get the pimples. You will also find that you will need any aftershave. Try it - you will be happy thatr you did.

my husband has that problem too. He shaves in the opposite direction to reduce the problem. Shave down instead of up. You are left with a not so clean shave but you wont have those bumps anymore. Why you get those bumps??? When you shave up you are cutting the hair beneath the skin and your pores close up which irritates the skin because the hair is trying to grow back out. SHAVE DOWN

raw unpasturized apple cider vinegar..
the following 2 testimonials can be seen at http://www.earthclinic.com/cures/acne.ht...
Angelina O, has found that applying ACV topically to her face several times a day (4 or more times) has cured her of a "very bad complexion". She reports that she applies it straight and that while it burns her skin a bit, it still works like a miracle!

Cheryl writes, "My daughter developed a case of moderate acne, and after trying a number of different things for over a year which helped very little or not at all, she started drinking 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar three times a day and applying it topically once at night. She has been acne free for two months. It took about three weeks to clear up."

you can get it at the health food store, or in some super market health food sections.
good luck
