I'm not an Atheist, but I can tell you that many Atheists have a fascination with religion. There are a few Atheists in my Religious Studies classes, and some who get a major in it. You can learn Religious Studies totally objectively. It is not required to be a Christian to take the Christian classes, or to be a Muslim to take the Islam classes, etc. Everyone is welcome to learn.
Many Atheists do know the answers to questions about religions, and are perfectly capable of being a top contributor to the R&S category.

I agree with previous posts and I myself need to become more involved in this after reading some of the questions. The big problem is the tolerance factor, many people feel that atheists are going to hell and are insulting their belief system. Then on the opposing side there's a problem with atheists being too tolerant of religious people. If any of you have read End of Faith by Sam Harris you'd understand that tolerance of religion is overated. Their beliefs (all mainstream religions) have created a world full of hate and yet we're supposed to tolerate that?

I think that atheists are the main contributors in this category because they usually have so much to say about religion. I love being in this category becuase i get to see how other people think and i think its fun to express my opinion.

I have a little orange banner! I was a philosophy major. I like discussing religous issues. I also want to show that atheists are people just like everyone else.

Quite a few. What 'fascinates' them here is probably either religion or spirituality.
Why, what fascinates you here?

We atheists need a section of our own, call it 'secular humanism' section.
Then again are SH's supposed to argue with ourselves?
