I am considering enlisting as an 11B in the US army and I was just wondering if anyone on here was an 11B and if they could tell me what it was like. and also what exactly do they teach you at your AIT?

I was 11-B, but that was 84-88, i took basic and ait at Ft. Benning GA. AIT was just another 5 weeks of basic training, you learn infantry skills, for 11-B basic and infantry training are combined into 13 weeks, atleast thats the way it used to be, you better do alot of running and pushups before you go.

Listen its good that you want to join and all... i am cerrently serving in Iraq... i am not a 11B but i am in a 11B slot...if you dont want to be a way from home as long its the best way to go... you dont have to learn any specific job... so it dont take as long... you will learn basic procedures to a more intense extent then any one else.. such as... clearning rooms, formations, how to do foot patrols, techniques on how to quiet, as the rest of us stuff like how to shot, different ways, different positions, how to throw gernades not like you are ever gonna use em once you get out but...you will still learn...most ofall you are gonna learn real quick how to get yelled at...but listen no matter what they say to you they dont konw you so just blow it off and charlie mike...continue mission. any more questions you can ask me and i will be more than happy to help....but good luck with what ever you decide to do...
