i love snacks too.. i dont think i could live without them. try looking for healthier snacks like wheat thins or sunchips, which are still good but better for you than regular potato chips... I've started snacking on fruit, find something you really like ( i love peaches) and snack on those when you feel like it. Good luck losing the weight by summer, i hope you can do it, i know i'd never be able to!!!!

Well Jack, you have to stop eating at night. At least two hours before bedtime. This will help you lose weight the safest way.
Summer is almost here, losing that much weight too fast is bad for you.
Keep your snacks sensible. Monitor your calories and stop drinking Coke or other sodas. They are horrible.
Eat a balanced diet. Don't eliminate too much but eat less. You should also drink more water during the day, this will curb your appetite and help keep your body working good. Most people can't tell the difference between thirst and hunger.
You should drink 1/2 ounce of water per pound of body weight, per day.
Walking is the best exercise. Walk quickly for at least 30 minutes a day. Stretch afterwards. All the major muscle groups.

You are not going to loose 40 lbs by summer, but you can get started loosing them. Slow loss means permanent loss.
If you like snacking, that's ok. Just snack on vegetables and maybe a couple string cheeses. A whole grain bread in moderation is okay too. Or try some apples with peanut butter, (the peanuts only kind), it's awesome.
I keep containers of celery cut up and baby carrots and cauliflower cut up all ready for me to grab. I also keep one of those apple slicer corer things at work so I can cut up an
apple in a hurry and eat it with a bit of Adams peanut butter.
I think the key is to have the healthy snacks easy to get, already prepared.
Go for a 30 minute walk everyday, or do some little weights. Strength training burns more calories. You can lift cans of food if you have to. Just do lots of repetitions.
Good Luck!

instead of buying junk food and snacks that are full of sugar and fat, buy things like carrots, celery, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, berries, small apples, small bananas, oranges, melon, mango and low fat yogurt. These make great snacks and they can help with those sweet and crunchy cravings.
Heres the government's dietary guidelines - http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/dga/dguide95.html
It can help you build a healthy diet that meets your personal preferences
lastly exercise everyday - even if it's just walking
and don't skip meals.

cut out the candy and soda, try the vitamin water, it is good for you and tastes wonderful.
also, try spreading out meals, eat about 5 a day, not big, but smaller portions. I suggest going to a health food store, they have a variety of wonderful food that is good for you and tastes awesome.
