Brunello is a red wine known for it's oakiness. What are you making?

You could use Cabernet in it's place since Cabs are somewhat oaky..

Keeping in the Italian wine family, you can probably use a Chianti too.

Also, some website recommending a red wine that uses more than one grape so you get a rounded flavor, such as Cote du Rhone.

My recommendations are:
1. Chianti - An Italian wine using the same type of grape, but not as oaky which I think will work better in this dish.
2. Cabernet - get the oakiness, but worried that it would be overpowering when reduced.
3. Cote du Rhone - my go-to red wine when the recipe calls for a "red wine".
4. Any Red that you like to drink - following the old rule, "Never cook with a wine you wouldn't drink from the glass."
