Yum! I love tuna melts!
Start with tuna salad, put some a piece of toast, top with your favorite shredded cheese and put them on a cookie sheet and under the broiler until the cheese melts. YUM!

We used to make tuna salad like normal...
Can of tuna
1 or 2 stalks celery
3-4 tblsp. of Mayo
1/4 cup onion
salt and pepper
(basic recipe)
Then we took an English muffin cut in half and toasted. Put a scoop of tuna on top, and then put a slice of Velveeta cheese on top and stick them in the microwave till the cheese is melted and bubbly.
That was our tuna melt, I'm sure there are many different ones though.

Make up tuna salad the way you normally do. Tuna, chopped celery, chopped onion, mayo., pepper, dill weed, or whaterer seasonings you like. I always buy the alcacore tune in water, but I still rinse it well. Toss it with some lemon juice and add the other ingredients, just don't use too much mayo. Butter one side of two slices of either rye or sourdough bread and put one slice, butter side down in a pan over medium heat. Place a slice of whatever kind of cheese you like on top of the bread in the pan and then place a couple of tablespoons of the tuna mix on top of that. Top with another slice of cheese and the other slice of bread, buttered side up. Cook over medium heat until the botton slice of bread begins to look golden and toasty and then CAREFULLY turn the sandwich over and cook until the cheese starts to melt. Yummy!
Make sure you drain the tuna well after rinsing it and remember to not use too much mayo., or the tuna mix will make your bread soggy.
