I have seen several such coins.

Somebody has made a considerable effort in making this coin.

If you look at the edge carefully you will see that it is two coins welded together back to back.

As two coins would be too thick they both have to be filed down to about half their normal thickness and then welded together.

This has been done purely as a joke. Some people think it's so the person can always win when playing heads or tails with someone which of course is silly. Anyone would soon smell a rat if the person always said "Heads" and was right 100% of the time.

If this person has made a good job of this the coin/s could be worth around £5 ($10) - however it should be pointed out that it is illegal to deface currency.

You said you were spinning the piggy bank around not the coin. So that is why one side is fatter and there is no queens head.

it could be a missprint, which are not that uncommon actually. The new US. 1$ coin had over 300000 missprinted (though not so that they are double sided). The print on the rim was missing on them.

it's probably a joke coin that once got mistakenly used as a real coin and then through the miracle of money found its way to you.

keep it, that's cool.
